Job Description
- Provide nursing care for pediatric patients including Hematology/Oncology, Med Surg, and all pediatric specialties.
- May float across NICU, general pediatric floor, and PICU.
- Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4.
- Typical workweek is 36-40 hours; overtime applies after 40 hours.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system required within the last 12 months.
- Must be willing to float to the Emergency Department to care for inpatient holds.
Required Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission.
- Minimum 24 months of combined Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience.
- Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months is required.
- Hematology/Oncology nursing experience is required.
- Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing contract within the last 18 months (no first-time travelers).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Membership or certification from the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) is required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology nursing discipline.
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months are preferred.
