Job Description

• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) accepted in lieu of CPI
• Float required to other MS/Tele units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU.
• Must be comfortable working with the prison population.
• 1 year of experience required.
• Accepts first-time travelers.
• Locals accepted at the same rate.

Required Certifications

• BLS: Must be AHA certified and cannot expire during the assignment.
• ACLS: Must be AHA certified and cannot expire during the assignment.
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs and LPNs.
• CPI: Required for all candidates; must not expire during the assignment.
• MAB: Accepted in lieu of CPI.
• Additional Certifications:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • STABLE
  • Tech Cert Verification (if applicable)

Health Documents

• Physical Exam: Initial physical required, updated annually.
• Fit Mask: Must be updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: 9 panel drug screen required annually.
  • Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious Exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination required, with exemptions considered.

Background Check

• 7-year criminal check required, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal.

References

• Proof of 2 clinical references required.

• All staff must sign a confidentiality agreement and compliance acknowledgment prior to start.
• New hire information form and orientation guidebook must be reviewed prior to start.
• Commitment to co-workers agreement required for all travelers.
