Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Floating: Yes, within scope to Intermediate Care (IMC)

• Return to Office Restrictions: 1 request allowed
• Patient Population: Trauma, Cardiovascular, Stroke, and Neuro
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC required

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery)

Licensure

• Maryland RN license or compact state license with proof of state residency (driver’s license must match compact license state)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Driver’s License/State ID (must match compact license state if applicable)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
• 7-year criminal background check (including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS level 3) within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Fingerprinting (Maryland MD CJIS/DSS/FBI) required for school placements only
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (does not expire unless gap in assignment >30 days)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask types preferred)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific requirements for PPD tests)
• Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (boosters required if negative titers)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (does not expire unless gap in assignment >30 days)
• Flu vaccine required (no declinations or exemptions accepted) for 2025-26 season
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Performance evaluation if worked with the system over 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually (unit-specific)

Additional Notes

• On-call is not required
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Competency exams for specialty areas as applicable (e.g., IR RNs require moderate sedation competency)
• Educational services and school placements have additional specific requirements (FERPA, fingerprinting, mandatory reporter training)

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong clinical skills in trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro care who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with EPIC EMR and meeting certification and compliance requirements.
