Position Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Floating: Required within MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings; may float to ED (ED ratios 1:5, possible 1:6)
- Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (some 40-hour options)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (may vary by unit)
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours guaranteed; facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
- On-Call: Not required
- Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
- Locals Accepted: No (no locals within 75 miles)
- Pending License Accepted: Yes (NM license can pend at time of submission)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Absences greater than 10 days require approval
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Licenses:
- Valid New Mexico RN license required (original with 3D seal for radiology areas)
- Pending NM license accepted at submission
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (unless completed within past 12 months)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Fit mask test within 1 year (specific N95 masks required)
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer required), Hepatitis B (declination, series, or titer), Flu vaccine required year-round (exceptions allowed with documentation)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam; minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal arrhythmia section)
- Orientation & Training:
- Cerner training attestation required (option to test out if experienced)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge
- Other:
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification may be required depending on unit
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit
- Work history verification for 3 years required
- Two professional references within 3 years required

- Travelers must have a valid non-local driver’s license (ID cards not accepted)
- Facility is not near public transportation; candidates must have reliable transportation

- Floating to multiple units within scope of practice is expected

This opportunity is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of MS/Telemetry experience who are comfortable floating across multiple units in a high-capacity Level I Trauma teaching hospital setting. First-time travelers are welcome, and pending NM licenses are accepted at submission.
