Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (NICU RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Brawley, California
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: NICU Registered Nurse (Level II NICU RN)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12 Days)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all candidates
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required
• STABLE – Preferred for NICU
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – May be required depending on unit
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background check covering last 7 years (including SS trace, county/statewide, federal, sex offender registry, education verification)
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask (specific models required)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella proof via titer or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella immunity proof or vaccination
  • Drug screening (9 or 10 panel) within 1 year or 60 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 seasonal vaccine or facility-specific exemption form

Competency & Skills Verification

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
• Color Blind Testing
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III)
• Unit-specific Skills Checklist (within 1 year of start)
• References:

  • 2 professional clinical references verified within 1 year
  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care (if applicable)
• Work history verification for past 3 years

Additional Notes

• Finalized Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included with submission
• Contracted hours are guaranteed
• Pyxis registration and tutorial completion required before start date

This position is ideal for NICU RNs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable with tube feedings and hold the required certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
