- Psych Center: Associated but no floating to psych required
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC Provider card required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for ER and Pediatrics
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for all pre-start ER RNs as of 11/5/2024
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Preferred, especially for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs; can be completed onsite if not obtained prior to start
Additional Preferred Certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification – Preferred but not required for Neuro ICU and Medical Surgical-Neuro
Job Requirements & Responsibilities
- Work every other weekend and 50% of holidays
- Must be able to float between ED and ED Observation units
- Must have current certifications as listed above
- Must be able to work in a Level 1 trauma center environment
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks: 7-year background check required within 60 days of start, including alias search, counties lived/worked, national criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and international checks if applicable
- State-Specific Checks: Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Caregiver Background Screening required within 60 days
- Licensure: Primary source verification of RN license required within 60 days
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
- Immunizations/vaccinations including Tdap (within 10 years), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (series or titer), and seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Drug screening (7-panel) within 60 days of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (not required for some tech roles)
- Photo for Badge: Required for new candidates only
- References: Two professional references within last 2 years required
- Resume: Must include 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days, education details, and contact information
