Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - Travel/Contract
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire

Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, varied shifts Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Schedule: No weekends; one day off per week (rotates based on staffing needs)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Float: May be required to float to ambulatory surgery center as needed
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Scrubs: Plum purple (scrub size needed prior to start)
- Electronic Systems: Epic (medication, documentation, communication)
- Travelers who have been former employees of the associated health system are not eligible
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider only
- NH Medical Technologist License or Active LNA
- Other preferred/required certifications to check based on unit:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Verification of tech certification (if applicable)
- State License copy and verification (must match current legal name)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- Social Security Verification
- National Sex Offender Registry
- National Criminal Search
- FACIS L3
- Education Verification (High school acceptable for CNAs)
- Criminal county/state searches for all locations lived/worked except NH counties (NH State Police Search required instead)
- BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) Background Report for NH placements
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be run within 30 days prior to start
- Transcript/Diploma accepted if education verification pending
- Drug screen: 10-panel within 14 days prior to start (with a 7-day grace period)
- Two current professional references within last 3 years (one must be from a supervisor)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Internal evaluation required annually for travelers with Aya or agency for 1+ year
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent masks) required for clinical candidates
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical or religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot accepted)
- TB Questionnaire required for all travelers
- Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella (history of disease NOT accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required annually (Oct 31 - Apr 1), with medical or religious exemptions allowed with documentation and approval
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required for all clinical travelers
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for internal purposes)
- Competency Exam (for internal purposes)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam:
- Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing for certain units
- Passing score 80% or higher required
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for specific units within the health system
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport style, jpeg)
- Proof of auto insurance required for Home Health, Hospice Care, and Visiting Nurse candidates
- Compliance attestation required for clearance
- Various exemption forms for flu and Tdap vaccines (religious and medical) must be completed and approved if applicable
- Hepatitis B declination form required if declining vaccine
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete SSA release and state-specific background authorizations as required
- MA CORI required for candidates who have lived/worked in Massachusetts in the last 7 years
- Candidates cannot start with pending background or drug screens (except certain NH county searches)
- Locals within 50 miles accepted but with a rate adjustment (not relevant for healthcare workers)
