Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Salmon, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D) required
• Must hold an Idaho or compact nursing license
• Shifts: 5 PM – 5 AM
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other week including a 4th on-call shift
• Work setting: Small critical access facility

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – confirm specific requirements per placement
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – confirm specific requirements per placement
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – required for L&D
• Other certifications may be required depending on placement; confirm with recruiter/facility

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security number (last 6 digits)
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification
• Primary source verification of state nursing license and NURSYS verification
• Facility-specific documents including confidentiality, compliance policies, dress code, orientation packets, and job description acknowledgment
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment application and annual skills checklist for applicable unit

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap preferred, declination accepted)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination if negative/equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination if negative/equivocal)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually; if past positive, clear chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
• 9-panel drug screen within last 6 months (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 1); mask required if declining vaccine
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required with facility approval

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1 year of L&D experience, who holds the appropriate licensure and certifications, and is comfortable working night shifts in a small hospital setting.
