Shift Details

• Nights
• 3x12 hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) followed by 4x12 hour shifts (rotating)
• 48 hour work weeks

Required Qualifications

• Mississippi state RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Note: First-time travelers are accepted; prior travel experience is not required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Copy of BSN/ASN diploma
• Nursys verification prior to start
• Signed Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (Joint Commission Training Safety Manual)
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start and upon expiration
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Facility-specific vaccination policy and new hire forms
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD)
• TB Questionnaire (required annually if applicable)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
• Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Skills checklist
• Mississippi-specific: MSDH Criminal History Fingerprint Results (valid 2 years) for patient-facing positions

Summary

This is a night shift Medical Surgical RN position on an orthopedic/surgical unit in Mississippi. The contract is for approximately 13 weeks with rotating 12-hour shifts. Candidates must have at least 1 year of RN experience (2 years preferred), hold a Mississippi or Compact RN license, and have current ACLS and BLS certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and competency verifications are required prior to start.
