Job Details

• Unit: Medical Surgical floor with 8 Pediatric beds
• Patient Ratios:

  • Adults: 1:5
  • Pediatrics: 1:4
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Pediatric experience is required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• On-call: Not required
• Block schedule accommodation: Not available
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC required
• Must be experienced in both adult and pediatric medical surgical nursing

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Licenses

• Valid Maryland nursing license OR compact state nursing license with proof of state residency (driver’s license must match compact license state)

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (all required annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start date (must be updated annually)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative)
  • Hepatitis B (proof of vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine (declinations or exemptions not accepted)
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required

Additional Notes

• Pending licenses are accepted
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted but at a different pay rate (not included here)
• Fingerprinting required for school placements only (not applicable for this position)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
