Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical LVN / LPN

Job Summary

• Specialty: LVN / LPN
• Unit: Medical Surgical
• Shift Options: 48-hour or 36-hour shifts (indicate preference)
• Start Date: January 26
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:7 (team nursing with support from PCC, RN, etc.)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (no weekend block schedule, but weekend block may be considered)
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years recent experience in LVN / LPN specialty (first-time travelers accepted only if 3+ years recent experience)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid Tennessee LVN / LPN license or multistate license compliant with NLC
• IV Certification (firm requirement)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • TB test (within 1 year)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Varicella proof of vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required for onsite candidates)
• Fit mask test (3M N-95) within 1 year of start
• Background checks including statewide, county, federal, education verification, sex offender search, and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation as applicable

Additional Notes

• Must submit all requested documentation at time of submission; no changes to requested time off after offer
• Photo badge required prior to start (strict guidelines for photo)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, specific colors for other roles; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• No multiple submissions to different job IDs/facilities; must select top choice

This position is at a Level I Trauma Center with short-term acute care services. The role requires a highly experienced LVN / LPN with trauma and large hospital experience, prior travel experience, and strict compliance with licensing and certification requirements.
