Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
Contract Length: 11 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day, Evening, or Night (7am-3pm or 7am-5pm)
  • Shift Length: Variable, 8-10 hours
  • Weekends: Scheduled per unit need
  • Call: On-call required for all CVOR RNs

Requirements

  • BSN graduate from an accredited nursing school
  • Current Minnesota RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (scrub experience preferred)
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • N95 fit testing required

Responsibilities

  • Provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents using the nursing process
  • Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in collaboration with the healthcare team

Certifications (may be required depending on unit)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)

Licensure & Verification

  • State license verification required
  • NURSYS verification required for RN

Background & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 1 year prior to start, including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide criminal searches, National Sex Offender Registry, FACIS level 3
  • Education verification required (degree and field of study must be listed)
  • Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required before start (candidates must complete the MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract)
  • Drug testing within 1 year prior to start (9-panel minimum)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (must state “may work without restrictions”)
  • TDAP vaccination required
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest x-ray if positive PPD
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (immunity or vaccination series or signed declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination form (flu documentation required year-round)
  • Meningococcal vaccine (for microbiologists only)

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Candidates must be prepared for on-call duties.
  • Fingerprinting and background clearance must be fully completed before starting the assignment.
  • CEU requirements follow Minnesota state regulations.
