Labor and Delivery RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in New Orleans, Louisiana
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 36 hours per week
  • High-risk OB unit

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • FHM
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in a Teaching Hospital setting
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule and Unit Expectations

  • Call required as needed
  • Weekend work required as needed
  • Float to Mother/Baby unit

  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • E-Verify required

  • EPLS/GSA/SAM screening required within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG screening required within 30 days of start
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start and annually
  • Competency exam required within 12 months of start and annually
  • Core Part I, II, and III required annually
  • Physical exam required within 12 months of start
  • Tdap required within 10 years
  • TB screening and TB questionnaire required
  • MMR, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
  • Drug screening required within 30 days of start
