Medical Technologist, Laboratory

Location: Snellville, Georgia Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 8 weeks Shift: Night (4x10 hours), 21:00 to 7:30 Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week Non-Billable Orientation: 8 hours (determined by contract length)

Required Qualifications

• Medical Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
• Medical Technologist experience within the last year
• ASCP-MLS, ASCP-MT, ASCP-MLT, or CLS certification
• Experience on the chemistry bench
• Experience on the hematology bench
• Experience with urine studies
• Experience in the blood bank
• Experience on the microbiology bench
• Core lab experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonates, infants, and pediatrics experience (not required)
• Blood bank, venipuncture, and microbiology exposure

Patient Population and Duties

• Patient population: adolescents to geriatrics
• Accessioning specimens, testing blood specimens, maintaining analyzers, running quality control, calibrations, proficiency survey testing, and calling critical lab values
• Lab systems: Sysmex XM, WAM, Iris Cell

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Scrub color: teal
• Return to office: maximum of 7 days
• Weekends: every other weekend, unless specified otherwise
• Holidays: one major holiday in the assignment means the traveler works it. Two means both are worked. Three means two are worked. Major holidays are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
• Floating: may float to a sister campus if needed.
• Clinical screen: clinical staff review candidates for fit, then the manager makes the final decision. Screens are handled case by case.
• Local candidates are accepted.
