Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Overview

• Location: Massena, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 4 x 12 hours (7p-7a), 48 hours per week
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:6, Nights 1:7, Weekends 1:8
• First-time travelers: Does not accept first-time travelers
• Local candidates: Accepted only if they live more than 50 miles away

Experience

• 2 years of experience required

Patient Diagnoses

• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Non-specific abdominal pain
• Cellulitis
• Chest pain, rule out

Skills

• Medication/Telemetry (MS/Tele) care
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Rapid Response/Code team use
• Blood product administration
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• CVA (cerebrovascular accident) care
• Seizure disorders
• Substance withdrawal
• BiPAP/CPAP management and maintenance
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and nasal cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen administration, including oxygen tanks
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (1 year)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Logistics

• Scrubs: any nursing uniform color
• Passport-style badge photo with a solid background
• Review before start: patient confidentiality, sexual harassment prevention policy, patient experience training
• Attestations for pre-employment compliance and health records completed with the clinical liaison
