Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baraboo, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Must be available every third weekend.
• Required to be on call during low census shifts.
• May be asked to float to other units to act as a sitter or assist as needed.
• Scrubs provided.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients, Neonate patients, Postpartum, and Maternal-Newborn care
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening (state-specific background check) required prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start.
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season.
• COVID vaccine series preferred.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing. Fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and documents, including confidentiality and ethical conduct agreements.
• Wisconsin BID Form required for all candidates working in Wisconsin.
• Skills checklist and references (two) required for new candidates.

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete all required orientation checklists and submit signed copies post-start.
• Fit testing must be submitted to the agency within two weeks of start date to avoid risk of removal from assignment.
• Candidates may be required to complete additional online training specific to ICU/CCU or Cath Lab if floated to those units (not typical for Labor and Delivery).
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams and other competency assessments may be required per agency standards but are not client requirements.
