Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech

Location

• Los Angeles, California
• Inpatient acute care setting

Employment Type

• Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
• Primary shift: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM
• Occasional graveyard shifts
• Rotating weekend coverage approximately once a month
• First 3 days: training shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
• Proficient in abdominal general, OB/Gyn ultrasound
• Experienced in vascular ultrasound exams
• Experience with pediatric patients required

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ARDMS certification (Abdomen, OB/Gyn)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• No pending licenses accepted

Required Qualifications

• Ultrasound Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARDMS certification with credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn
• Experience as an Ob/Gyn Sonographer and Vascular Sonographer
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Current and valid professional license for Ultrasound Tech in California
• Current and valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including social security trace, 7-year criminal history, sex offender search, and federal exclusions (must be within 30 days of start)
• Education verification (diploma or official transcripts)
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (specific to this facility)
• Physical exam within one year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test (QGold) within one year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: positive titer within 2 years required
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer or signed declination within 1 year
  • Varicella: positive titer within 2 years required
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: vaccine or declination within past year
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (monovalent vaccine dose after 9/12/2023 required or opt-out form)
• Fit mask test within one year (specific mask models required)
• Facility-specific onboarding documents and training modules must be completed prior to start, including:

  • HIPAA training
  • Harassment prevention training
  • Facility-specific abuse reporting and confidentiality agreements
  • Online training modules (e.g., Code of Conduct, Radiation Hazard Awareness, Safe Patient Handling)
• References: 2 required, supervisor level or above, one within the last year
• Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Work history verification for last 5 years
