Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required; holidays as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in transport
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care in critical care, emergency, and transport settings
• Adhere to every other weekend and holiday shift requirements
• Off-cycle orientation available; orientation sessions held every Monday

Compliance & Documentation

• Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function
• Complete background check within 90 days prior to start, including criminal, education, and employment verifications
• I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), with specific substances tested
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunization and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March)
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Techs)
• Completion of facility-specific modules and safety orientation prior to start
• Medication, pharmacology, and competency exams required prior to start and updated every 3 years
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with minimum passing scores for lethal rhythms (specific to critical care and telemetry units)
