PACU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU - Inpatient)
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (10:00 AM - 10:30 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 48 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 in PACU; may float within PACU holding area with ratios from 1:3 to 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift per month
- On-call Requirement: 1-2 overnight call shifts per month on a 4-week schedule
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted within 100 miles
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week with allowance for 3 call-offs during the 13-week assignment
- Floating: PACU nurses will float to the PACU holding area as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, including experience within the last year
- Trauma experience (Level 1 Trauma preferred)
- Telemetry experience
- Experience with pre/post Cath lab procedures
- Experience with pre/post IR procedures
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Successful completion of Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
- A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of cumulative travel work at this facility
- Overtime applies after 48 hours starting 10/30/2025
- COVID-19 vaccination is optional; facility reports vaccination status but does not require it
- No public transportation nearby; candidates must have reliable transportation arrangements approved if needed
- Candidates must complete a traveler compliance form and review a welcome orientation presentation prior to start
