Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Provide clinical radiology services following established practice standards to ensure optimal department function.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all x-ray equipment and perform all x-ray protocols and procedures.
- Work schedule includes floating and weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Pediatric (PEDS) experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Louisiana.
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- One completed travel assignment as a Radiology Technologist.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience working with Pediatric patients.
- X-Ray Technician experience.
Required Competencies and Certifications
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher, updated annually).
- Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) required annually.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (updated annually).
- State license verification within 30 days of start.
- Photo for badge required.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent).
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declinations must be signed within 12 months of start).
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted under specific conditions.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive panel of substances.
Additional Requirements
- Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps longer than 30 days.
- Scrub colors: Any color allowed.
- Must comply with employee appearance policy.
