Job Opportunity: CT Technologist

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an overnight CT Technologist with X-Ray skills to start ASAP. The position involves working primarily night shifts in a low-volume orthopedic imaging setting. The candidate will work independently and may rotate across multiple departments including outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings.


Work Schedule

  • Night shift: Midnight to 8:30 AM, Monday to Friday (30-minute lunch)
  • First 2 weeks: Day shift for training

Patient Population

  • Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
  • Orthopedic exams in exam rooms or via portable equipment
  • Inpatient and outpatient care

Caseload

  • Up to 20 patients per shift, often fewer due to low volume

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • X-Ray Technician experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • IV Certification
  • ARRT certifications in Radiography (R) and CT
  • Experience performing CT procedures including Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Brain Perfusion, CT Angiography (CTAs), and Multiplanar Reconstruction

Prior Travel Experience

  • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start
  • Education verification required (high school/GED minimum for allied health; associate degree or higher preferred)
  • Drug screening per standard panel within 1 year of start
  • Various state and federal exclusion and sanction checks
  • Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations as needed
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption

Additional Requirements

  • Photo ID for badge (specific photo guidelines apply)
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding and compliance documents
  • Annual mandatory training and competency exams (e.g., OSHA, harassment prevention)
  • Ability to complete required competency exams and pass/fail testing as applicable

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to handle physical tasks including moving patients and equipment weighing over 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices
