Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical Surgical unit (3rd Floor) on night shift. Immediate start available.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year of start (7-year search including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry)
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Primary source verification of state license
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Pass/fail testing on medication administration, blood administration, and EKG during orientation
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
• Annual competency exams

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (acceptable masks: 3M N95 models)
• TDAP vaccine within the past 10 years
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 3 months of start or negative chest X-ray for positive responders
• Annual TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Varicella
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (with options for declination if documented series completed)
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 season (vaccine, religious or medical exemption required; declinations not accepted)
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must submit all required licenses, certifications, and current flu vaccination documentation or they will be rejected
• Previously employed permanent staff must wait 2 years before being eligible for travel contracts
• Facility-specific learning modules and confidentiality agreements must be completed prior to start
• Exemption requests for vaccinations require completion of specific forms and approval before starting
