Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Emergency Department (ED) specialty for a travel contract position in Guam. This is an acute care facility with Adult Trauma II designation.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty (Emergency Department).
Licensure
- Must have a current RN license for Guam or a Compact RN license in hand at time of application.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA provider card required (digital certificate only).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider card required (digital certificate only).
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred, AHA provider card required (digital certificate only).
- Advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for ER; must be completed in full prior to start.
- Conscious Sedation – Required for ER; certification must be completed prior to start (online course).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Required for RNs; must be completed by compliance deadline.
- ESI (Emergency Severity Index) Triage Training – Required prior to start for ER.
- Facility-specific modules including:
- Pressure Injury Training
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Pyxis CareFusion
Schedule & Shift Details
- Travelers are scheduled primarily for one shift (day or night) but cannot request shift preference.
- Weekend work is required every other weekend; flexibility to support facility needs is essential.
- Holidays are required; specific dates determined by unit needs.
- Return to Office (RTO) limits: no more than 3 consecutive days and a maximum of 7 days off during the 13-week contract.
- Overtime is at management discretion and not guaranteed.
- Travelers should be prepared to pick up additional shifts as needed.
Additional Requirements
- Passport in hand is required (U.S. passport only; Canadian passports not accepted).
- Candidates residing in Guam are considered local and will not be considered for this travel position.
- Flights are not reimbursed; candidates should plan accordingly.
- Travelers must remain on assignment through the last day of the contract before booking return travel.
- Drug testing, background checks, and health screenings must be current and compliant with facility and agency policies.
- Onsite orientation includes mandatory pass/fail testing (drug calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year.
- Physical exam within 1 year (agency requirement; facility does not require).
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccination series, or declination with restrictions)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or approved medical exemption.
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver.
Background & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 1 year prior to start.
- Drug screen (9-panel) within 30 days of start.
- Professional references required (2 for travel/per diem acute care).
- Work history verification for the last 10 years.
