Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Easton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required (4 weekends in a 4-schedule cycle)
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within specialty and to lower acuity units if needed
• On-Call: Not required
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:5, up to 1:6 with low/safe acuity (rare)
• Patient Age Range: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac dysrhythmias, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), respiratory failure, pneumonia, stroke

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Acknowledgement of PassFail Testing
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID
• I-9 or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Drug screening (negative 9 or 10 panel depending on location) within 30-90 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB test or chest X-ray as per protocol
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (seasonal requirement)
  • Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap as applicable
• COVID-19 vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and age-specific competency exams (must score 80% or higher)
• Photo for badge (passport style with solid background)
• Signed job description and confidentiality agreement prior to start
• Completion of orientation and any required facility-specific training

Additional Notes

• Floating may include coverage at a sister facility with lower acuity patients
• Orientation typically held at 8 AM on Tuesdays; dress code is royal blue scrubs or business casual (scrubs required when on floor)
• Weekend and holiday coverage is mandatory as scheduled
• References: Two supervisory references within 1 year required
• Employment history verification for at least 2 years in acute care setting within last 5 years required
