Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical LVN / LPN (Travel/Contract)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Medical Surgical LVN / LPN with IV certification (firm requirement) for a travel/contract position at a Level I Trauma Center. The role involves team nursing with a 1:7 ratio, supported by PCC and RN staff.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in Medical Surgical LVN / LPN specialty (first-time travelers accepted only if 3+ years recent experience)
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Shifts: 48 or 36 hours (indicate preference)
- On-call and weekend shifts as needed
- No weekend block scheduling, but weekend shifts may be considered
- Locals within 100-mile radius not accepted (strict rule)
- Start date: ASAP
Licensing & Certifications
- Must hold a current Tennessee LVN / LPN license compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines (pending licenses not accepted)
- IV Certification is mandatory
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC only)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for Medical Surgical/Tele units
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, TNCC preferred but not required)
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid LPN / LVN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- IV Certification
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
Additional Notes
- Strict submission rules: candidates cannot be submitted to multiple job IDs/facilities simultaneously
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; specific scrub colors for other disciplines; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
- Photo badge required prior to start with strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no glasses glare, no hats unless religious, no piercings visible)
- Onsite fit testing and other facility-specific documentation required before start
This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical LVN / LPNs with trauma and large hospital experience who have prior travel contract experience and are IV certified.
