Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)


Job Details

  • Shift: 4 x 10-hour day shifts, rotating weekdays
  • On-Call: 1-2 call shifts per week and 1 weekend call per month (weekend call required)
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
  • Schedule Flexibility: No block schedule accommodation
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
  • Orientation: No return to origin (RTO) within first two weeks due to orientation

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT certification

Certifications & Licenses

  • Required:
    • ARRT (Radiography)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider only
    • Washington State Radiologic Technologist License
  • Preferred:
    • ARRT (Vascular Interventional)
  • Pending License: Potentially accepted if application process has been initiated

Facility & Work Environment

  • Pediatric teaching hospital with Magnet recognition and Level I Trauma designation
  • Total staffed beds: 407
  • Scrub color: Any color or T-shirt top, must be age-appropriate and kid-friendly
  • Charting system: EPIC

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required (recent background within 1 year acceptable if all criteria met)
  • Various federal and state background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 1 year of start, covering major substances
  • WA State Patrol Search required within 12 months and rerun every 2 years
  • Physical exam within 1 year
  • Fit mask test required within 12 months prior to end of assignment (no on-site fit testing allowed)
  • Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • TB testing: Qgold/Tspot or 2 PPDs with specific timing requirements; chest X-ray if prior positive test
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct-March)
  • Respiratory safety clearance required for respirator use

Competency & Training Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (pediatric focus)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (time sensitive for certain units)
  • Skills checklists relevant to pediatric and interventional radiology settings
  • Completion of required facility-specific modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
  • Photo for badge required on blue background within 72 hours of contract signing

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • No radius restrictions for local candidates
  • Candidates must complete all assigned modules prior to start except Epic training and medication assessment, which are completed onsite
  • Orientation and training details provided upon hire
