Location: Carthage, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)

Job Description

• Primarily working in the Emergency Room (ER) with possible floating to Medical/Surgical units.
• Requires at least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Prior travel nursing experience is required.
• Active Illinois RN license required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 weeks of start date.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 12 weeks of start; if past positive, a negative chest X-ray within 1 year is required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine series, or history of chickenpox)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap required)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31).
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 weeks of start (instant drug screen acceptable).
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; documentation requested if available.

Background and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Emergency Contact Form required prior to start.
• Background checks within 1 year of start, including:

  • Social Security Trace and County searches for the last 7 years.
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender Registry checks.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual).
• Illinois Adult Abuse Registry Search (can be pending at start; notify facility if completed).
• Fingerprinting requirements for certain roles (not applicable for RN).
• Two professional references required within 3 years (travel, allied, or per diem acute care).

This position offers a night shift travel nursing opportunity in the ER with a 13-week contract in Illinois, requiring prior travel experience and current licensure.
