Job Description

• Work primarily with Nuclear Medicine (NM) and PET scanners; no floating except between these two.
• Flexible scheduling options: 3x12, 2x12 and 1x8, or 4x8 shifts — all day shifts.
• No on-call required.

Required Experience & Skills

• Equipment: GE, Siemens
• Procedures: PET, Cardiac, Bone Scan, Live/Spleen Scan, Lung Scan, Renal Flow, Thyroid Studies, SPECT, Myocardial Imaging
• Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
• Skills: IV Starts, Phlebotomy, PACS
• Patient Populations: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) — preferably AHA certified
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
• State License (California Radiology Technologist License required)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — AHA certification required for certain units
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — preferred for ER, PACU, RRT
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) — required for L&D, NICU, NSY, RRT as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) — required for L&D (following AWHONN guidelines)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) — preferred prior to start; can be completed onsite if needed
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) — required
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam — required as applicable
• Color Blind Testing — required
• Competency Exams for specialty area — required and must be updated annually
• Conscious Sedation Competency Exam — required for ER, ICU, OR, PACU, Endoscopy, RNFA

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months prior to start, confirming ability to perform job duties
• Fit Mask Testing with approved mask models; clean-shaven policy for respirator use
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or Chest X-Ray if past positive) within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity or vaccination as per facility policy
  • Hepatitis B: Series, immune titer, or facility-specific declination
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine: Required year-round, no declinations accepted
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Mandatory for new travelers starting after August 2, 2021; documentation required
• Drug Testing:

  • 10-panel drug screen within 14 days of start date (facility does not accept positive results or instant drug screens)

Background & Compliance

• Standard background check updated annually, including:

  • 7-year SS trace and county searches
  • Nationwide and sex offender searches
  • California Medi-Cal Search required
• Employment application and 2 professional references from the past year required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required (OR skills checklist if RNFA)
• Joint Commission Attestation and various facility-specific confidentiality, security, and policy agreements must be signed

• No floating except between NM and PET scanners
• Flexible scheduling with no call required
