Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Preferred/As applicable
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - As applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - As applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - As applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - As applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - As applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - As applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - As applicable (expires annually)
• State Nursing License - Primary source online verification required
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - Required

Competencies & Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - Required as applicable (minimum 80% score)
• Color Blind Testing (online) - Required for all candidates
• Competency Exam - Required as applicable (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
• Core Testing (for Substitutes) - Annual requirement

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (2-Step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
• TB Questionnaire for positive TB results (renew annually)
• Measles (Rubeola) - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Mumps - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Rubella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B - Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella - Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 Vaccine (Dose 1 and Fully Vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption required

Background & Documentation Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Education verification required (highest level of education)
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Employment application and resume required
• 7-year work history verification required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• Clear headshot photo for badge
• Driver’s License/State ID required
• I9 and E-Verify documentation required

This position is suitable for nurses with at least one year of experience, comfortable working night shifts in a medical-surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio, and able to meet the certification, health, and background requirements listed above.
