Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Adult OR

Job Summary

This position involves providing individualized direct patient care in the Operating Room (OR) with a focus on adult patients. The RN will primarily circulate for cases across all surgical services, including:

• Level 1 trauma procedures
• Laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures
• Total joint replacements and orthopedic trauma
• Specialty neuro procedures, including craniotomies

The nurse will work with advanced equipment such as lasers, endoscopic and laparoscopic tools, robotics, and electronic nursing documentation systems.

Work Environment

• Covers 21 OR rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 in the OR
• No floating to other departments; may work various shifts to meet staffing needs
• Orientation: Approximately 1 to 2 weeks within the department for agency staff

Required Qualifications

• Current Georgia Registered Nursing License (or Compact license valid in Georgia)
• Active BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care facility, specifically in the OR
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
• Experience in orthopedic, neuro, and especially craniotomy cases
• Experience in an academic facility preferred
• Strong computer skills for documentation
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but may be considered
• The nurse must be able to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs
• Participation in continuing education and professional development is expected
