Job Opportunity: Technologist - CT
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform quality CT exams, including all procedures offered by the department.
- Competent and willing to learn new procedures.
- Perform scans efficiently, meeting benchmark and team standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, families, students, and healthcare personnel.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) tasks.
- Ensure the department is stocked and compliant with standards.
- Procedures include Neuro, Body, MSK, CTAs, IR procedures (biopsies, ablations, drain removals), 3D reformats, colonography, enterography, urograms, trauma scans, and dual energy understanding.
- Use of GE equipment with 8 CT scanners (various slice counts).
- Utilize EPIC EMR, McKesson PACS, and Bar Code Medication Administration systems.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Always work with at least one other staff member; no solo shifts.
- Call schedule includes 1 overnight every 9 weekdays (Mon-Fri) and 1 weekend every 13 weekends.
- Floating within CT department locations under the same management.
- Dress code: Red scrubs or red t-shirt with emblem.
- 6-week orientation for outside candidates with assigned preceptor and mid-point progress check.
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography and Radiography.
- State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Proficient with computers and basic navigation/email applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively and multitask.
- Ability to handle difficult customer interactions and escalate as needed.
- Level 1 trauma center experience preferred.
- Hospital experience preferred.
Additional Notes
- Orientation includes IV line education and department-specific processes.
- Candidate must be able to work within a team environment.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
