Medical Lab Scientist (Laboratory) - Contract Position

Location: Bellevue, Nebraska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3rd shift (Varied Night Shifts), 7 days on / 7 days off, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 72 hours

Job Description

• Generalist role in core laboratory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, molecular diagnostics, microbiology, specimen receiving, and blood bank.
• Blood bank experience required, specifically with tube method.
• Equipment used includes DXC700, Access 2, DXH900, ACLTOP 350, GeneXpert, Biofire.
• Experience with both Sunquest and Beaker laboratory information systems preferred (transition in progress).
• No floating to other units.
• Will never work alone; no on-call required.
• Unit size: 80 beds.
• Dress code: teal scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Experience in all core lab areas listed above.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Orientation & Training

• Completion of required hospital orientation.
• Must be signed off on all MLS duties before starting independently.

Additional Notes

• Candidates should be prepared for a 72-hour workweek on night shifts.
• No call responsibilities.
• Every other weekend off schedule.
