Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Unit: Surgical Floor 3A
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Float: Rotational basis

Patient Care & Unit Information

  • Patient Population: Cardiac and Medical-Surgical patients
  • Unit Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Days: 1:5 to 1:6
    • Nights: 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates)
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, lift equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record: EPIC

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
  • Experience and competence in drug titration

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Experience in trauma nursing (inpatient)

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
  • Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness of other caregivers
  • Uphold patient rights and confidentiality
  • Adhere to nursing practice guidelines, Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and organizational standards

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk most of the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
  • Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs
  • Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules and shifts as needed

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Black
  • Unacceptable attire: Torn clothes, open-toed shoes, not wearing scrubs

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 – April 1; declinations not accepted
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
  • Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
  • Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
