ER RN Travel Opportunity - Wisconsin (Hayward)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) is a plus

Facility & Department Information

• Critical access hospital in northwest Wisconsin
• Emergency Room with 12 beds and 2 trauma rooms
• Trauma Level 4 (not STEMI or Stroke center)
• Separate triage area; travelers preferred to be trained in triage
• Behavioral health ligature safe room available
• Security coverage in-house at night and on weekends
• Approximately 15,500 ER visits per year (~40 patients/day)
• Nurse/Patient Ratios:

  • 11pm-8am: 2 RNs
  • 8am-8pm and 11am-11pm: Additional RN coverage
• ED Physician coverage 24/7; mid-level providers during peak times
• House Supervisor always present (not required to take assignments)
• Patient care techs available; RT (Respiratory Therapist) assists as needed (not 24/7)
• X-Ray and CT available adjacent to ER
• Both phlebotomy and RNs draw labs
• No monitor techs; Mindray monitors used

Work Schedule & Requirements

• 12-hour shifts (day or night, flexible)
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling possible upon request
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Rotating holiday shifts
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating required for ER travelers
• Scrub color: charcoal/pewter gray, any style
