Job Opportunity: Med/Surg RN (Telemetry/Medical Surgical)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Unit: 7 West / 7 East / 5 East
Patient Population: Primarily adults with occasional pediatrics (1-5 per year)
Level of Care: Medical Surgical with Telemetry
Number of Beds: 60

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Schedule: Every other weekend
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Float Opportunities: Yes, to 6 East, Acute Rehab Unit, Geriatric Psych Unit

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
• Valid driver’s license required (used to verify candidate is within 50 miles radius)
• Candidates cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
• Must comply with fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Positive attitude, team player, and culturally sensitive to diverse populations including African American and Korean-speaking patients

• Scrubs color: Navy
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Post-surgical care, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, cancer

• Candidates must provide proof of COVID vaccination status

• Night shift candidates may be considered but primarily day shifts are specified
