Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) - Iowa, Albia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
• Current and unrestricted Iowa permit to practice as a radiologic technologist
• Certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (mandatory reporting certified or within 90 days of hire)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: CT certification or CT experience
• Venipuncture experience
• Proficient in English for communication with patients, families, and caregivers
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule patient exams and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Perform diagnostic exams including correct techniques, patient positioning, and protective shielding
• Perform CT examinations following proper CT protocols
• Start IVs to inject contrast agents for CT exams
• Perform C-arm procedures in the operating room
• Manage exams in PACS and burn disks
• Observe radiation protection standards for patients, self, and staff
• Assist radiologist with special exams, including patient prep, sterile techniques, and medication preparation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Radiology department
• Participate in department huddles, in-services, meetings, and educational opportunities
• Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and budget guidelines
• Maintain patient and hospital confidentiality
• Promote positive relationships with patients, visitors, coworkers, and providers
• Complete on-the-job orientation and competency skills checklist
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Physical Demands

• Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently
• Mobility in patient/treatment areas required
• Frequent talking and hearing
• Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting, and supporting patients
• Requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Schedule

• Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Occasional weekends
