Registered Nurse (Med Surg GCU) - Kearney, Nebraska

Job Details

Specialty: Med Surg GCU (General, Orthopedic, Neuro, and Spine Med-Surg)
Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, either 0600-1830 or 1800-0630
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Usually applicable May-Sept and Nov-Jan; cannot request more than 1 holiday off during the contract
Floating Requirement: First to float to PCU for a Med-Surg Unit assignment unless telemetry trained
Patient Ratio: Maximum 1:6; Day shift Monday-Friday ratio is 1:5
Unit Size: 23 beds
Extra Shifts: Up to 2 extra mandatory shifts every 6 weeks

Required Certifications and Skills

BLS (AHA or ARC)
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Experience or skills in Med-Surg nursing including ortho, neuro, and spine patients

Required Qualifications

Current RN license valid in Nebraska
Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; implied Med-Surg experience required
