Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Details

Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: Typically 1:5, may be 1:6 on day and night shifts
Shifts: 12-hour shifts, day shift hours approximately 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Coverage: As needed
Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute patient holds
Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
Orientation:
- General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
- Floor-specific orientation: 2 days
EMR System: Meditech experience preferred but not required
Nurse Aides/CNAs: Present with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of acute care (MedSurg) experience
Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
BLS (AHA) certification required
NIHSS certification required (AHA)
Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the hospital
