MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)

Location

• Hastings, Nebraska

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 10-hour night shifts
• 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays as scheduled
• Week 1 includes 40 hours of day-shift training before moving to the contracted schedule

Required Qualifications

• Medical Lab Technician (2 years of experience)
• Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year
• ASCP or MLT(ASCP)
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Phlebotomy experience including neonatal capillary and venous collections, blood cultures, venipunctures, and arterial blood gas collections
• Hematology experience including manual differentials and body fluid cell counts
• Microbiology and molecular experience
• Generalist laboratory experience across hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and point of care testing

Preferred

• Prior travel assignment experience
• Experience in facilities similar in size and pace
• Gram stain experience
• Arterial blood gas collection experience

Work Setting

• Generalist lab role with no blood bank requirement
• Night-shift phlebotomy is a significant part of the role, up to 50% of the shift
• Covers hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, limited microbiology, molecular platforms, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing

Dress Code

• Solid-colored scrubs
• Preferred colors: red and black
• Lab coat permitted
