Job Opportunity: Heart & Vascular Sonographer
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Description
- Perform non-invasive vascular and/or echocardiography testing.
- Follow established testing protocols to produce high-quality study images and data.
- Obtain appropriate patient history prior to each test.
- Ensure supporting documentation for exams is complete.
- Use ultrasound technology knowledge to identify if order revisions are needed and notify appropriate personnel.
- Explain testing procedures effectively to patients, family members, and hospital staff.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and coworkers.
- Provide efficient service and collaborate with peers to maximize productivity.
- Schedule add-on and emergency exams to maintain workflow.
- Communicate with patient care areas to prep and send for patients timely.
- Maintain cleanliness and adequate supply stock in assigned areas.
- Communicate equipment maintenance needs and operate equipment safely.
- Follow quality control standards and participate in departmental process improvement and peer review activities.
- Stay current with new or revised testing protocols and complete required continuing education for licensure/certification.
- Comply with annual hospital and departmental safety, education, and in-service requirements.
- Attend department meetings and share responsibility for agenda.
Required Skills & Experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to communicate effectively with hospital management, physicians, and technologists.
- Current knowledge of technology and clinical advances related to cardiac and/or vascular sonography.
- Working knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance procedures.
- Basic understanding of imager configuration, DICOM standards, networking, and medical records.
Education Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound training program.
- Maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE.
Certifications & Licensure
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or
- ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or
- CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or
- CCI Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
