Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, applying evidence-based practice, and focusing on quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans while mentoring and precepting staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
  • Develop, prioritize, and implement individualized plans of care; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
  • Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
  • Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor/preceptor.
  • Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for Kentucky.
  • Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience.
