Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document according to policy.
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
• At least one previous travel assignment of 13 weeks.
• Minimum of two years current experience in the specialty.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• EPIC experience preferred; training available on-site.

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

Certifications & Licensure

• Current State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required.
