Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Work on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit with orthopedic, general, urology, and ENT patients.
• Patient ratios: Day/PM shifts 1:4-5, Night shifts 1:6-7.
• Float to like units including Riverview, Plover, and Divine Savior; may care for Med/Surg patients if floated to ICU/Stepdown.
• Weekend and holiday rotation: every other weekend and holidays.
• May be placed on call during low census periods with a minimum 2-hour callback requirement. Call back pay applies.
• Must be resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaged.

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS certification (Aspirus requires AHA or ARC certifications).
• ADN or BSN degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, including orthopedic experience.
• At least 1 completed travel nursing assignment required.
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system.

Additional Information

• Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (radius rule expires 7/10).
• Scrub colors: any professional-colored scrubs allowed.
• Orientation week hours are not guaranteed; otherwise, 36 guaranteed hours per week except during holidays when the unit may be closed.
• Eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours during the contract.
• Flu and COVID vaccination required during flu season; unvaccinated travelers must wear a mask at all times per policy. Non-compliance may result in corrective action.
