Overview

• Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
• Primary location: Gateway
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Clinical interview required

• Cardiac Renal Unit
• 34 beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Heart catheterization recovery (femoral/TR bands)
• Chest tube and indwelling drain management
• Cardiac and non-cardiac drip management (cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, protonix)
• Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Detox and CIWA protocol experience
• Central line care
• Trauma experience
• Experience with Epic

Schedule and Coverage

• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday
• First to float within skillset
• May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
• 2-hour notice for cross-campus float
• Mid-shift float within the same campus
• Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible

Clinical Experience and Skills

• Post cardiac procedure care, including heart cath, ablation, and pacemaker
• A-fib RVR
• ESRD
• CHF
• Sepsis
• Tracheostomies
• Nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and renal biopsy
• Behavioral health and detox
• Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation
• Recover heart caths, including femoral/TR bands
• PIV insertion
• Chest tube and indwelling drain management
• Drip management, including cardiac drips such as cardizem and amio, and other drips such as heparin, lasix, and protonix
• CBI
• Detox/CIWA protocol experience
• Central line care
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Additional Notes

• No local candidates within 40 miles
• Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No competing health systems or agency logos on scrubs
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• COVID-19 vaccine not required, subject to change
