Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Location: Statesboro, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (5 PM – 5 AM)


Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe and effective care delivery. You will maintain clinical competencies through continuing education, delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and supervise assigned personnel delivering patient care.

  • Unit beds: 29 plus 8 hallway beds
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
  • EMR system: Cerner
  • Scrub color: Navy
  • Schedule: Blocked scheduling with weekend requirements; no 48-hour weekly guarantees
  • Time off: No maximum restrictions as long as full-time equivalent and weekend requirements are met
  • May need to cover openings; schedule is complete through mid-May

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of 2 or more travel assignments
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ESI Level 5

Scope of Role

  • Deliver patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Direct and coordinate nursing care based on clinical nursing practices
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes

Additional Notes

  • This is an auto-offer position; no interviews will be conducted
  • Floating to other units may be required
  • Reason for opening includes leave coverage and internal vacancy
