Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Summary

Provide independent nursing care in a cardiac and telemetry unit (not a stepdown unit). Deliver routine and complex care, manage clinical situations, and delegate tasks appropriately. Support patients’ psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Administer medications and treatments, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and document patient information. Educate patients, families, and caregivers as needed.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience required
• At least 6 months of telemetry experience required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment or compact license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification from AHA required

Additional Information

• Type of patients: Cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
• Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available
• New hires must complete orientation and competency validations within the first 30 days
• Residency or specific orientation programs available for newly licensed RNs

Summary of Responsibilities

• Practice independently with awareness of clinical situations
• Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
• Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care
• Address complex patient and family needs
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol
• Document patient history, symptoms, and care provided
• Educate patients and families on health needs and resources
