Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Location: Vidalia, Georgia

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Facility Overview

• Unit: CRT/RRT
• Beds: 8 ICU, 12 PCU, 32 MST, 26 ED, LDRP (5 Postpartum, 6 Labor, 2 bay triage, Level 1 Nursery)
• Patient Ratios:

  • With 2 therapists: 1 RT assigned to MST/ED, 1 RT assigned to ICU/PCU/LDRP
  • With 3 therapists: division depends on census and acuity
• Staffing: 2-3 therapists per shift
• Equipment: Hamilton C6 and PB 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Airvo, V60 Bipap, Bubble CPAP
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: Minimum every other weekend required; open to block scheduling Fri-Sun
• Floating Policy: Not applicable
• Patient Experience: AIDET communication model
• Recent Updates: Newly received Hamilton C6 ventilators

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • NBRC
• High Flow Oxygen (HiFlo) Management

Skills & Procedures

• Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Oxygen Nebulizers
• Ventilator Management
• Bipap Management
• Home Oxygen qualifications
• CPT vest therapy
• High Flow Oxygen (HiFlo) Management
• Bubble CPAP
• EKGs

Additional Information

• RTs currently do not intubate; competency checkoff in progress
• Dress Code: Scrubs (gray, black, navy)
