Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel)

• Rockport, Maine

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule & Hours

• Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 40
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend
• On-call rotation overnight (estimated 1 weekday on-call per week starting 5 PM to 8 AM next day, plus 1 weekend per month from Friday 5 PM to Monday 8 AM)
• Productivity expectation: 25 visits per week (5-6 visits per day)

Job Description

• Hospice RN role focused on adult patients with medical-surgical, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU conditions
• Case management of 14-18 patients based on acuity
• Use of in-home infusion pumps; no ventilators or invasive monitoring
• Self-scheduling and case management of patient visits required
• Equipment provided includes agency laptop, iPhone, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Hospice Palliative Care RN with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in a Home Health setting
• Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system

Preferred Skills

• Experience with PICC lines and dressing changes
• Experience with tracheostomies, port access, ostomies, chest tubes, Pleurex drains, suprapubic catheters
• Lab draws including urinalysis and cultures

• Dress code: business casual or scrubs (any color); no jeans, open-toed shoes, or clothing with holes

Additional Information

• No float requirements
• Patient visits include start of care (SOC), recertification, and discharge visits with specific unit values (SOC=2 units, Recert=1 unit, DC=1 unit)
