Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Location: Burien, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Setting: Acute inpatient

Job Details

• Patient Load: 1-10 patients per day (census varies)
• Work Areas: ICU, PCU, Telemetry, Medical, Surgical, Emergency Department
• Common Diagnoses: General medical diagnoses, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), end of life care, post-operative cervical cases
• Primary Focus: Dysphagia and swallow evaluations, limited cognitive evaluations and treatment
• Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (flexible), occasional weekends (3-4 hours max, not both Saturday and Sunday unless desired)
• Holiday Requirements: Occasional, 4-8 hours
• Dress Code: Business casual or scrubs of any color
• Orientation: Limited department-specific orientation
• Floating: Primarily at one facility with potential to float to two others nearby

Required Qualifications

• Washington State license for Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Certified Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) verification required
• Acute inpatient experience required
• Video swallow experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Rehab aides available; no speech-language aides (SLA)
• Occasional weekend and holiday work is a plus but not mandatory
• Work environment includes acute inpatient care with a variety of medical and surgical patients
