Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year hospital/inpatient pharmacy experience (retail experience not accepted)
• MN State Pharmacist license required at time of submission
• BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred

Job Description

• Review and interpret provider orders
• Provide drug information and assist in problem solving
• Perform unit dose dispensing, IV admixtures, outpatient prescriptions, compounding
• Navigate electronic medical records (EPIC) and work with automated dispensing devices (Omnicell)
• Provide pharmaceutical care across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Follow all pharmacy regulations and standards
• May act as shift supervisor under department manager supervision
• Provide oversight and clinical supervision for pharmacy services and support personnel
• Participate in pharmacy services related to acute care surgery, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, infusion services, intensive care, general medicine, dialysis, transplant, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication reconciliation
• May perform decentralized clinical functions such as patient interaction, interdisciplinary rounding, chart reviews, counseling, and medication list collection
• May perform centralized clinical functions such as medication checking, dispensing, and IV room oversight

Schedule & Shift Details

• Initial training: Minimum 4 weeks, primarily Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
• Post-training schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, 10-hour shifts
• Shift pattern: 7 consecutive evening shifts followed by 1 day shift (Wednesday-Wednesday, then off Thursday-Tuesday)

Work Environment

• Licensed for 118 beds with an average census of 80-90 patients
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• No floating to other units/departments

Additional Information

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to learn and utilize new technology as pharmacy practice evolves
